It warns you about all warnings. Basically it checks if all the references are correct, including the ones in the source code. Without it, the references are checked only in the .rst files.

by -n, do you mean -W in sphinx-build?

do sphinx-build --help

-W makes warning as errors -n Is more picky

As I said, this will be merged when we merge pre-release into master. No need to merge anything here.
