Exposing the method groups in our FileDatabase API

Hi guys,

In this MR I'm exposing the method groups in our FileDatabase API, because I would like to use it in a feature that I'm developing.

I didn't set it as @abc.abstractmethod, because this would crash the planet.

Do you mind to review this one @mguenther?
