I don't think this file: https://gitlab.idiap.ch/bob/bob.io.audio/blob/9c31e87b37c8fbff9318696ad914778c16578549/bob/io/audio/utils.py is related here. It is probably copied from bob.io.video.

Another problem is that bob.io.matlab is only a test dependency which can be avoided altogether by converting this file: https://gitlab.idiap.ch/bob/bob.io.audio/blob/9c31e87b37c8fbff9318696ad914778c16578549/bob/io/audio/data/sample3.mat to an hdf5 file.
