Pyhton3 fixes

Hi Tiago,

I just had a quick look (here: http://python-future.org/compatible_idioms.html) on the things I corrected this morning. Apparently, my changes are Python 2 and 3 compatible, so I suggest to merge theses fixes into v2.0.0, what do you think ?
